According to "Zhoghovurd" daily, Defense Minister Suren Papikyan will present the project on announcing training camps in 2026 at the session of the RA government today.
The project envisages that in 2026, training sessions for the reservists of the first and second ranks of the first group of reservists will be organized. The gatherings are scheduled to be held in the following periods: February 3 to April 10, March 31 to June 19, April 15 to July 15, June 9 to August 14, August 4 to October 9, September 15 to December 15, as well as September 29 to November 20 inclusive. It is noted that the purpose of the training sessions is to improve the military abilities of reservists, professional training and preparation, training of reservists from non-commissioned officers with higher education, as well as the involvement of combat duty. According to the project, each citizen can participate in the gatherings for a maximum of 25 calendar days.
Let us remind you that back in February 2025, we wrote that while the Ministry of Defense announced the training sessions, around 150 citizens were brought before the court to avoid the training sessions. there are even those imprisoned. Let's add that from January 1 of this year, the Armenian army conscripts will serve for one and a half years, which means that the number of people going to the 25-day training camp will increase, so that the Ministry of Defense can "fill" that half-year place.
