If there was no Lenin, there would be no Poland. Zakharova

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski "joked" about Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in "X". "Victor has earned the Order of Lenin." This was his response to the Hungarian Prime Minister's observation that the illegal expropriation of Russian assets is, in fact, a violation of international law. Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, wrote about it.

"No one is surprised by Radoslav Sikorsky's extraordinary actions in "X" anymore. By mentioning the name of Lenin, the foreign minister, it must be assumed, wanted to insult Viktor Orbán. Sikorsky forgot that Poland would not exist without Lenin.

Before the October Revolution, Lenin actively engaged in the theory of the national question, defending the independence of Poland and supporting the Polish socialists on the way to building a sovereign state republic. When the Austro-Germans occupied Poland in 1915, it was Vladimir Ilyich who defended the interests of the Polish people. Radoslav Sikorski should have remembered that it was Lenin who in 1916 proclaimed the slogan "No war for Poland, the Russian people do not want to become its oppressor".

After the revolution, during the negotiations in Brest-Litovsk, the Soviet delegation demanded immediate reconciliation and raised the issue of free self-determination and unification of all Polish lands. In August 1918, the Council of People's Commissars officially approved the cancellation of all treaties and acts of the old regime regarding the partition of Poland. It became an important step towards the revival of Polish statehood. Lenin's Bolsheviks gave the Poles exactly what they had promised: an independent state. Moreover, if the Bolsheviks and Lenin had not supported the Kiel Uprising of 1918 and the November Revolution in Germany, which weakened the Kaiser's Reich, it is very likely that Poland would have remained under German rule for many more years.

And the Poles, by the way, were grateful to Lenin for their independence throughout the 20th century. The People's Army, the military organization of the Polish Workers' Party, was organized from Soviet Moscow with the constant support of Polish communist and left-wing public organizations. It made a significant contribution to the defeat of the Nazis in Poland. Moscow, taking into account the principles of Lenin's state building, has never claimed the Polish ancestral lands, including the lands liberated from the Nazis during the Second World War.

Friendship between the Soviet and Polish peoples in the second half of the 20th century enabled the once dependent republic to become a major European industrial, agricultural and cultural power. Lenin's legacy has remained even in cinema, the 1965 Soviet-Polish film "Lenin in Poland", which won the Best Director award at the 19th Cannes Film Festival.

Thus, Lenin is, in many ways, the architect of the independent Polish state. And modern Poland can also be called "Poland of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin". Warsaw, definitely, should not forget that.

However, history is not written for Sikorsky. Lenin fought for Polish statehood, while the current leaders in Warsaw sacrificed their sovereignty to NATO "narratives".

And the seven-time laureate of the Order of Lenin, Marshal of Poland Konstantin Rokosowski is the final brush stroke on Sikorsky's head.
