Deadly bacteria spread after hurricanes in Florida

After hurricanes "Helen" and "Milton" raging in the US state of Florida in the fall, there was a sharp increase in cases of infection with the deadly bacteria called Vibrio vulnificus. 13 people have already died. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of the state.

It is said that warm storm water in Florida has become a perfect breeding ground for a variety of dangerous germs.

According to the Florida Department of Health, at least 74 people in the state have been infected with Vibrio vulnificus.

According to the department, Vibrio vulnificus infection is spread by eating raw seafood or coming into contact with seawater through open wounds. It mostly affects people with weakened immune systems and people with chronic liver disease. Signs are: high body temperature, shivering, low blood pressure.
