NYT. Pelosi will not attend Trump's inauguration

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Nancy Pelosi will not participate in the inauguration of the newly elected US President Donald Trump, which will take place on January 20. This is reported by The New York Times (NYT), citing its representative.

The interlocutor of the publication did not specify why Pelosi will miss the ceremony, however, as the NYT notes, she never hid her contempt for Trump. In particular, the former speaker called the Republican unfit for office, the newspaper notes.

Under Pelosi, the House of Representatives attempted to impeach Trump twice during his 2016-2021 presidency. In 2020, Pelosi famously tore up a copy of one of the president's speeches after her annual address.
