The former president of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, did not fulfill her promise to remain in the position of the head of the country even after the end of her term of office. This was announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, reports Lenta.ru.
"Salome Zurabishvili promised to remain in the position of the president of Georgia even after the end of her term of office, and then she quietly left and started working at an American think tank," said the Russian Foreign Minister.
The former president of Georgia has become a Kissinger Fellow at the American McCain Institute. According to Evelina Farkas, the institute's executive director, Zurabishvili embodies the ideals of political courage and public administration of the Kissinger Fellowship.
He added that the politician showed his strength and resolutely defended Georgia's democratic place in Europe "in the face of severe repression and autocratic rule."
