The massive fires that broke out in the US state of California a few days ago have not been fully extinguished, the danger remains relevant, forcing the residents who have not yet left their homes to prepare and be ready to evacuate at any moment.
Hovhannes Babakhanyan, an honored artist of the Republic of Armenia living in Los Angeles, said in a conversation with the reporter of "Armenpress" that now the situation is relatively stable. The fire seems to be extinguished at least in densely populated areas, but there is still a risk of re-ignition in the forest areas.
"We were evacuated for a short time until the appropriate level of air purity was restored. Thank God, we were able to face the difficulties...
Now the situation is more stable," the actor elaborated, noting with pain that the terrible fire also took people's lives. "In addition to human casualties, many of my friends have lost not only millions of dollars in wealth, which can eventually be recovered, but they have irretrievably lost almost everything that ties them to happy memories of the past. a memory from a mother, child, grandchild or friends... Many managed to take only the passport and a few important documents.
Some of my friends say that during the evacuation, the fire was so far away that they were sure it would not reach their house, but in a matter of hours, the fire leveled everything to the ground...
One of them is a great musician, and he can't forgive himself for not taking with him his last two symphonic compositions, which were written for two different films," said Hovhannes Babakhanyan. According to the actor's description, the world is on the verge of madness: "We must let's pray earnestly and repentingly ask God to forgive us for the sins we have committed your life if you were born again," I would answer.
"I wouldn't hurt anyone at all. May all those whom I have hurt willingly or unwittingly forgive me," the honored artist concluded the conversation with us.
Actor Narek Nersisyan, who lives in Glendale, stressed that although the flames did not reach their city, the sky was full of smoke for days as a result of the fire that involved a large area, ashes were literally falling from the sky.
"It's true that Glendale was safe in that sense, but there are cities that have suffered a lot from the fire, there are neighborhoods that have been reduced to ashes. Armenians living in Altadena, Pasadena and other affected cities suffered great losses, many were left homeless.
An Armenian school in Pasadena was completely burned down. We also had power outages due to the winds, but that was the extent of our damage. There is a hypothesis that the fires are man-made. "There are already people detained in the police," he elaborated.
According to him, at the moment the community is living its daily life, trying to return to the natural course of life.
Actor and singer Razmik Mansuryan also lives in Glendale, who regretfully noted in a conversation with the reporter of "Armenpress" that 60 percent of the houses and businesses in the neighboring districts of Pasadena burned down. their related businesses. Houses worth more than several million dollars were destroyed, including those of Armenians," said Razmik Mansuryan with pain.
