Yesterday in Moscow, the court hearing in the criminal case against the director of "Spayka" company Davit Ghazaryan began.
The head of one of the largest freight forwarding companies in Russia, who also founded the company "Spika-Rus", a structure engaged in the import of fruits and vegetables to the Russian Federation, has been accused since 2019 of not paying particularly large amounts of taxes, conducting currency transactions using forged documents, and legalizing income obtained through criminal means, Kommersant writes.
According to the version of the investigation, the businessmen took about 44 billion rubles out of the country through the contracts for the supply of fruits and vegetables to Russia. In the years 2015-2018, when, according to the indictment, these supplies were made, only 2% of vegetables and fruits equivalent to the total value of the contracts were imported into Russia.
