On Friday, 22 March, the grand opening of the Model of United Nations took place at the Institute of International Relations of Kyiv National University of Taras Shevchenko.

Model United Nations is sought to create among young people a deep understanding of global issues. Assuming the role of UN ambassador, the participants feel the peculiarities of international policy-making. Using knowledge, liaisons and experience that are built through the UN Model, in turn, gives a transparent view of the world order. And our modern youth is the next generation of world leaders, who should find common ways to solve global problems in the future, working together and productively in such an international organization as the UN.

The intellectual game was opened by the Director of The Institute of International Relations of Kyiv National University of Taras Shevchenko - Kopeyka Valeriy.

The event was attended and delivered a speech by the Chairman of the UN Monitoring Mission on Human Rights / UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine - Fiona Fraser.
Distinguished guests congratulated and wished the participants success in the intellectual game “Model UN”: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Ukraine - Davide La Cecilia and Ukrainian public figure and journalist, People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the VIII convocation, former co-chairman, member of the Political Council of the DemAlliance Party - Svetlana Zalischuk. As well as the chairman of the Armenian youth of Ukraine - Arthur Sargsyan. Deputy Chairman of the Union of Armenians of the Zaporozhye region for International and Regional Cooperation - Petrosian Arsen. The Executive Director of the Kiev Armenian community - Nadia Azarenka.

The event was organized and conducted by a team of volunteers from various higher educational institutions of Ukraine: Kyiv National University of Taras Shevchenko, National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy", Kiev National Economic University and Kiev University of Boris Grinchenko.

Intellectual game "Model UN" was supported by the Union of Armenians of Ukraine.
