Experts have indicated the most effective method of teaching the child to read the child

Although the popularity of educational applications and interactive games is more effective when it starts clear, real life actions. This conclusion was researchers from Michigan State University. The work was published in the journal "Reading Research" (JRR).

Researchers have studied how different homework affects the development of early literacy of more than a thousand children aged 3 to 6, including more than 200 children with speech and language disorders. Three types of activities, live activities (writing letters, search for writing on the signs, the practice of sounds), the joint reading of books and literacy games, both on digital and on the table.

The results showed that live activities have provided the greatest progress for all children. Those who have spent more time playing games, on the contrary, have shown worse results in the language of the letters, sounds and phonological awareness. Joint reading had a positive effect on children without speech disorders.

"Our study shows that both the content and the way they teach are important. Direct interaction with the printed text and the involvement of parents were the most useful. Games and digital media cannot replace adults in mastering these skills, "said Lorior Skibe.

Researchers emphasize that the development of early literacy does not require expensive programs or devices. Daily activities are enough, look for letters on the signs, write words together, discuss sounds and ask questions when reading questions.
