The ban on the Russian language in Ukraine and its idea of joining NATO are unacceptable and should be abandoned. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated this in an interview for the documentary film "MGIMO 80", reports TASS.

"The situation is such that the rights of the Russian-speaking population of Ukraine have been violated. Laws have been passed banning education in Russian, media based in Russia and operating in Ukraine, Ukrainian media operating in Russian. Russian culture is forbidden," Lavrov said. - Separate regulations have been adopted in Kyiv regarding the suspension of any cultural activities in the Russian language. This is an unacceptable reality. As well as the continued and declared intention of Kiev and the West to make Ukraine a member of NATO.

"All these things must be realized and eliminated," the Russian Foreign Minister stressed.
