Russian citizens have been warned about new fraud due to offshore accounts

The fraudsters found a new method to deceive Russian citizens who have offshore bank accounts. This was reported to RIA Novosti, the chairman of the Financial Literacy of the Russian Association and the Expert of the Russian Ministry of Finance Maxim Samov.
According to Semov, the frauds send their victims to the reminders of submitting a tax report on offshore accounts and attach false links. If you go through these links, you can lose your data or money.

"Of course, in 2025, Russian citizens are obliged to submit an offshore account revenue report until June 2," said Samov. The fraudsters use the modernity of this topic and try to mislead the citizens by spreading false links. Samov noted that such methods are not new, but this method of offshore accounts is applied for the first time.

To protect yourself from fraud, you need to be cautious and never pay taxes through telephones. This must be done only in the personal office of taxpayers, in Gosuslugi or in the "Nalogi Fl" application, concluded Samov.
