According to Mash, attack aircraft gained a foothold in the area of the Lotus gas station in the southeast of Sudzha. From here, in July, the active phase of the invasion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) into Russian territory began. In addition, the Russian army established control over the highway connecting Sudzha with the village of Belaya located to the east.
