Lionel Messi, the striker of the Argentine national team and "Inter Miami", made a long and emotional post on his Instagram page regarding the death of his father. In a sincere letter, the footballer also hinted at the possibility of retiring in the near future.
In his post, Messi spoke about his strong bond with his father and the difficult days of the last World Cup.
"Dad, I still can't believe you're gone. You asked me so much to play in the last World Cup, and days before it started, your condition worsened. I was waiting for your message after every game, and that's when I realized that the situation is really bad. I wanted to win for you, ... but my legs were no longer obeying."
The footballer also shared his doubts about his future and the irreplaceable role of his father in his life.
"I don't know what I will do without you, I don't know how to continue. I only played football, and now I have serious doubts that I will continue to do so for a long time. You were by my side from the very beginning, there was so little left until the end. Why didn't you hold on a little so that we could finish together? You were a father, friend and representative. Rest in peace... I love you, grandpa."
Let's remind that Jorge Messi died at the age of 68 in one of the clinics of Rosario after a long and serious illness. The funeral took place on August 9, under strict security measures, attended only by family members.
