This was reported by The Washington Post. The undisclosed contracts include costs for Lafayette Square Park, construction of a helipad, a new visitor screening center and other projects totaling at least $927 million, the newspaper reported.
According to The Washington Post, the main burden of financing will fall on citizens' taxes. Trump, for his part, has repeatedly claimed that the project is financed exclusively by private donors, so funds will not be required from the state budget.
Last week, a US appeals court ordered the Trump administration to halt a massive White House ballroom construction project. The US president promised to appeal that decision to the Supreme Court.
Trump announced in February of this year that the special committee approved his plan to build a new ballroom in the White House.
