"Past" daily writes: The draw for the qualifying round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup was held yesterday.
The Armenian national team was included in Group F, where its opponents will be the winner of the Portugal-Denmark pair of the A League playoff stage of the League of Nations 24/25, as well as the selections of Hungary and Ireland.
Before that, it became known that UEFA fined the Football Federation of Armenia 37,500 euros for "pyrotechnics and posters with impermissible content" by fans during the Nations League match between Armenia and the Faroe Islands.
Moreover, 500 seats will be closed in the "Republican" stadium. Moreover, the decision will be valid for a 2-year trial period for all home matches.
Of course, it is not new that UEFA fines one or another country, including the Armenian football federation, but the "ban" on 500 seats is noteworthy. Experts in the field say that nothing like this has happened in the case of Armenia.
It is worth paying attention to the fact that we are talking about the places where the national team's fan clubs, "First Armenian Front" (FAF) and Red Eagles, which have recently demanded the resignation of the FFA leadership, traditionally worship.
There are reports in football circles that such a decision by UEFA is at least in favor of the FFA leaders, and if they were not interested, at least they did not make serious efforts to at least not disqualify those 500 seats in the stadium.
And here, during the time of all former heads of FFA, serious work was carried out with UEFA, everything was done so that the fines were not too heavy.
