The New York Times: Trump's special envoy for Ukraine could be a native of Russia

US President-elect Donald Trump may appoint Boris Epstein, who was born in Russia and lived there for 11 years, as his special envoy to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

According to The New York Times, Trump was asked to do this by Epstein himself. His request was made on the plane on which Trump was flying to a meeting with US President Joe Biden after the election.

“Several people on the plane appeared shocked by the idea,” the report states. It is noted that Trump listened to Epstein “with obvious interest” and did not reject his request, without promising anything.
