"Hraparak": Paris brought Pashinyan back into the anti-Russian line

"Hraparak" writes:

Nikol Pashinyan has fallen into the trap of his lies. During a meeting with Vladimir Putin in Bishkek, he tried to convince that the adoption of the law on the start of Armenia's EU membership process, in large part, stems from Armenian-Russian relations, that he was forced to make that choice, since the initiator was our civil society, and he simply "saved the situation" by adopting the law. "If the parliament had not adopted that law, the initiators could have collected another 250 thousand signatures, and if the parliament had rejected it this time too, we would have been forced to hold a referendum in Armenia.

That is, with the adoption of this law, it actually turns out that we have abandoned the idea of a referendum," Pashinyan said. He is talking about the "Euroreferendum" initiative, which was launched in the fall of 2024 and aimed to start the process of Armenia's EU membership. It turns out that Pashinyan's adventurous statement has shocked Western leaders. We learned from our sources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that, in particular, representatives of the European Parliament did not hide their indignation at the disrespect shown towards them by the Armenian leader during Pashinyan's visit to Paris and had loud discussions on this topic in the corridors.

It is believed that French President Macron invited Pashinyan to Paris to hear his explanations and to brief him ahead of his upcoming visit to Moscow. Let us recall that Pashinyan, who left for Paris on a two-day working visit on September 9-10, was participating in the International Space Summit, which was attended by delegations from about 120 countries. Pashinyan had a private meeting with the French President during the visit. By the way, this summit was the first. The International Space Summit was initiated by the French President. There is an official statement about the Macron-Pashinyan private conversation, but the actual content of the backstage conversations can be judged from the rhetoric of Nikol Pashinyan, who returned from Paris. We wrote that after the meeting with Putin, the ruling team's rhetoric had changed: more restrained and mild statements were being made towards Russia, as, according to some information, the team had been instructed not to escalate the situation, and they had begun to declare that there was no question of leaving the EAEU on their agenda, etc. Meanwhile, yesterday Nikol Pashinyan again returned to the anti-Russian line.

For example, he said that there is no such sphere that we will not follow the path of diversification, we will develop our independence, our statehood. He also said: “Gas is not cheap in Armenia. On the way from the border to the consumer, compared to other countries, the largest increase in price formation occurs.” Then he began to threaten that if gas is raised, we will also think about what can be raised in price. “Specific situations may have specific answers. If there are such situations to raise the price, we will also look at what can be raised in price, or what is there that has been free until now, after that a proportional price may arise, for example.” Government circles do not exclude that Pashinyan will again bring the issue of the 102nd military base in Gyumri to the agenda during his upcoming visit at the request of the West, otherwise he will be deprived of the financial support that he receives in exchange for his anti-Russian policy.
