Trump and Biden agreed to resolve the issue of Hamas hostages by January 20

US President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump discussed the issue of hostages in the Gaza Strip at a meeting held in the Oval Office of the White House on November 13 and expressed their intention to resolve the issue by January 20, 2025.

This is reported by the Axios portal, referring to sources. On the same day, Biden met with the families of the American hostages of the Palestinian radical Hamas movement. According to the interlocutor of the portal, the current head of state told the citizens that he and Trump agree that the issue of hostages is urgent and that they want to try to solve it before the inauguration of the Republican. In addition, Biden asked Trump to help him with the release of Hamas hostages and a cease-fire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

The portal writes that the Democrat wants to use his two months in office to overcome the "protracted deadlock in negotiations" on the deal, while the Republican would probably like to see fewer crises before January 20.
