Vladimir Putin addressed the Russians before the State Duma elections.
"A significant, in many ways decisive election campaign is taking place in our great country," the president said.
He noted that this time such a large-scale voting process will take place under the conditions of a special operation, and the residents of Donbass and Novorossiya will elect deputies for the first time after the reunification with Russia.
The head of state emphasized that participation in the elections is a common contribution to victory, and the vote of each voter is important. He expressed confidence that the most worthy candidates and true patriots will win.
"This will be our common response to those who want to weaken Russia, restrain its development, deprive us of our sovereignty and the right to determine our own destiny," Putin concluded.
The elections will take place over three days, from September 18 to 20. In total, more than 2.2 thousand campaigns of different levels will be held. Russians will elect 20,700 deputies and heads of administrations.
In parallel, remote electronic voting will take place in 33 regions. According to the latest data of the head of the Central Electoral Commission, Ella Pamfilova, more than four million voters applied to participate in it.
