Iran continues the negotiation process with Oman on the legal aspects of the management of the Strait of Hormuz and the definition of shipping routes.
As "Armenpress" reports, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, said that the parties are quite close to reaching a final agreement.
"Negotiations are underway with Oman on the legal mechanisms for the management of the Strait of Hormuz and the determination of shipping routes, and we are very close to an agreement," Araghchi was quoted as saying by "Tasnim" news agency.
Aragchi stressed that the current route is unacceptable for Tehran, and the parties need to develop a new route, which contains many legal and technical complications. "Before developing a new route, a temporary route will be discussed, which will serve as a basis for the future route," the Iranian foreign minister added.
