The director of the rescue service presented the reforms implemented to the French side


On November 6, the Directorate of Security and Defense Cooperation of the French Republic had meetings with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ara Fidanyan and the Head of the Migration and Citizenship Service Armen Ghazaryan.

The delegation included Director Sébastien Dordhain, Deputy Gilles Burrell and Security Attaché of the French Ministry of Internal Affairs in the South Caucasus, Olivier Lfebvre. The sides highly appreciated the formed bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the readiness to strengthen and develop cooperation in a number of other areas.

The ongoing reforms in the subordinate services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were presented, the need for assessment and analysis of needs in pillar directions, material and technical adequacy and expert support was pointed out.

As part of the strategic changes implemented in the migration and citizenship service, the issues of migration policy development, management of migration flows, institutionalization of the service and implementation of digital tools were addressed. The parties also highlighted the process of visa liberalization dialogue with the EU, ways of developing cooperation between the two countries in the field of migration.

Within the framework of the reforms of the police sector, issues of the saturation of the Criminal and Community Police units, the formation of the Police Guard, the improvement of functions and the educational environment were presented.

The need for continuity of working meetings was emphasized on both sides, the possibilities of providing expert support, improving staff capabilities and overcoming challenges were emphasized. An agreement was reached to continue close cooperation.
Presenting the reforms carried out in the rescue service, Kamo Tsutsulyan highlighted the support of French experts in the development and modernization of the service's directions, emphasized the priorities of population protection and disaster risk management.

At the end of the meeting, the guests visited the National Center for Crisis Management, also visited the State Academy of Crisis Management and the educational complex of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
