A police officer in a Paris suburb shot and killed a man armed with two knives who wounded two people and then attacked law enforcement officers, BFMTV reported Saturday, citing Paris police.
"A man armed with two knives and with a threatening behavior was shot dead by a policeman in Bobinyi community," the TV channel said.
The TV channel clarified that one of the police officers used his service weapon to restrain the attacker, who later died despite medical intervention.
The General Inspectorate of the French National Police (IGPN) has launched an investigation and will examine the legality of the officer's actions, the TV channel concluded.
