The death of the leader of the military wing of the Palestinian Hamas, Izz ad-Din al-Haddad, has been confirmed by the organization, Reuters reports, referring to an unnamed high-ranking Hamas official.
"A high-ranking official of Hamas confirms the death of the leader of the military wing al-Haddad," the statement said.
The Israel Defense Forces announced on Friday that they had struck the Gaza Strip to kill the leader of the military wing of Hamas. Israeli authorities have called al-Haddad "one of the architects of the October 7 massacre," claiming he was responsible for the killing, kidnapping and maiming of thousands of Israeli civilians and soldiers.
