Sino-US relations affect the stability of the world order, and as they develop, China will not pursue a path of hegemony as it strengthens. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced this during a meeting with US senators.
"China-US relations are important for the well-being of both peoples and affect the stability of the world order," Wang Yi was quoted as saying by the website of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"China will not follow the old path of a strong country striving for mandatory hegemony. We will pursue peaceful development and resolutely follow the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics."
