Europe is “catching up” with the third world war, Karaganov believes

Europe, as the source of the worst things in the history of mankind - world wars, is now catching up with the Third, says Sergei Karaganov, scientific director of the Faculty of World Economy and International Politics at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, honorary chairman of the presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy.

At the same time, Russia can only win, and also withstand the counterattack of the West, which in the future may not manifest itself in such an acute form, the expert says.

“Europe, the source of the worst things in the history of mankind - two world wars, is now heading towards the Third, but I hope that we will avoid this and remove most of Europe from active participation in international affairs. We will work on new principles, naturally with the involvement of advisory forces from Europe, and of course, with the involvement of the United States, which will remain a great power despite all its crises,” Karaganov said during a session of the annual meeting of the Valdai international discussion club in Sochi.
