Specialists of the Orenburg regional children's clinical hospital helped a child who swallowed a 14 cm long spoon. It was removed endoscopically and the child was discharged the next day, the hospital said.
"The child was hospitalized in the children's surgical department No. 1 of the regional children's clinical hospital. A team of specialists, under general anesthesia, performed an emergency esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) and endoscopic removal of the foreign body, a 14 cm long metal spoon. The post-operative period passed without any problems, and the child was discharged home the next day in satisfactory condition," the statement said.
