The Upper and Inner Shorzha have been emptied. "Publication"

"Hraparak" daily writes:

2022 After the attack on Armenia by the Azerbaijani army on September 13-14, some residents of Nerkin Shorzha and Verin Shorzha communities of Gegharkunik marz left, and those who remained left during the winter months, coming only in the summer season. The locals say that the cultivated lands of these communities are now under the control of Azerbaijanis.

Aram Minasyan, administrative head of Nerkin Shorzha, told us. "There are no residents who used to live in Vardenis or Akunk now. When spring opens, residents will come." Why are they not living? Are the roads closed? "Maybe it's not convenient, there is a lot of traffic, the roads are closed.

I personally live in Vardenis. It's been like this for 2 years. Until 2020, 13 families lived there, we have 20 kunu houses, people were engaged in farming and animal husbandry. And has any part of the agricultural lands belonging to the community come under the control of Azerbaijanis?

"Everything is visible from the heights where the Azerbaijanis are watching. The same can be seen from our mountain. There are posters between 2 mountains. We don't have arable land in that area, it's a pasture.

Those areas that existed before, before the border of the Soviet Union, they have come forward, they have climbed the mountain, it is visible. People do not risk going to that part, which is guarded both by us and by the Azerbaijanis."

The administrative head of Verin Shorzha, Artem Yeranosyan, refused to answer our questions, he said that he was sick. Head of Ayrk community Kamo Ghazaryan said. "Ask those questions to the Vardenis municipality, we are not authorized to answer such questions."
