Russian-Cuba cooperation is not directed against third countries, and Moscow will continue to develop it for the well-being of the peoples of both countries, as well as for strengthening international security and stability, stated Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"Russia and Cuba have unique historical ties. Our multilateral cooperation traditions have deep roots and enjoy wide social and political support in both countries. At the same time, as we have repeatedly emphasized, this cooperation is not directed against third parties and cannot be considered in a way that harms someone's interests.
We are ready to continuously develop it for the well-being of the peoples of our states, as well as for the strengthening of international security and stability," said Maria Zakharova's speech, which was published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
On Thursday, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order, according to which the US can impose import tariffs on the products of countries that sell or supply oil to Cuba.
