The Foreign Ministry of Lebanon has sent a complaint to the UN Security Council and demanded to take steps to force Israel to stop attacks on the country's territory.
"The UN Security Council must compel Israel to stop its military operations, which are a violation of Lebanon's sovereignty," the statement published on the X social platform states.
"We call on the international community to get Israel to withdraw its troops from the five points in the south of the country, which are still under its occupation."
The letter to the UN Security Council comes after the Israeli Air Force carried out at least 20 airstrikes in southern and eastern Lebanon on January 25, killing two people and injuring six others.
In the letter, the Lebanese diplomatic service also expressed its willingness to negotiate with Israel "in order to stop the occupation and attacks".
