US President Donald Trump claims that the United States is now in control of Venezuela. He also stated that the country's president Nicolas Maduro is responsible for "crimes against the United States and the rest of the world."
"As I said earlier this month from Mar-a-Lago, we have arrested Maduro for his crimes against the United States and the world," Trump said in a speech marking the renaming of a street after him in Palm Beach, Florida.
"We're running the country now," Trump said, referring to Venezuela. He described it as a "different country" that had "dramatically changed in just one week."
