The empty Iranian embassy in Canada was vandalized Monday during a rally in support of protests in Iran, and one person was arrested for trespassing, the Canadian Press reported, citing Ottawa police.
As the agency reminded, the embassy building was empty after Canada severed diplomatic relations with Iran in 2012.
"As a result of the vandalism of the closed Iranian embassy during the protest on Monday, one person was arrested on charges of trespassing," the publication said.
As the agency notes, there is no information about the amount of damage done to the building of the diplomatic mission. According to "Canadian Press", unknown persons also removed Iranian flags from the entrance of the diplomatic mission.
