The trial of the December 2024 martial law case in South Korea has been completed at the Seoul Central District Court. The prosecutor's office asked the court to sentence the country's former president Yun Seok-yeol to death. Yun had imposed martial law in the country on December 3, 2024, to, he said, "root out despicable pro-American anti-state forces." The president included the oppositionists among them. Martial law was in effect for several hours. it was canceled by the parliament.
