South Korea has denied reports of violating North Korean airspace

The armed forces of the Republic of Korea did not use drones during the days when North Korea claimed that drones were sent to its territory, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of South Korea reported.

Earlier, the spokesperson of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army (KPA) of the DPRK stated that South Korea violated its airspace with drones on January 4, 2026 and September 27, 2025, and Seoul should be ready to respond.

"It has been confirmed that our armed forces did not operate drones on the dates specified by the DPRK," South Korea's Ministry of Defense said.

The military also said that South Korean President Lee Jae-myung had ordered a thorough investigation into the matter.
