US President Donald Trump's decision to increase the defense budget to 1.5 trillion dollars in 2027 indicates that the US is preparing for a new world war, American conservative journalist Tucker Carlson believes.
"The president announced an increase in the Pentagon's budget from $1 trillion to $1.5 trillion, a budget typical of a country preparing for a global or regional war. It is obvious that we are moving in this direction, towards a world war," he said in a program published on his X social network.
According to Carlson, there are no other reasons for such an increase in the US defense budget.
Trump previously stated that the US military budget for 2027 should be $1.5 trillion, citing very "disturbing and dangerous times."
