The Estonian authorities plan to complete the construction of the fence on the border with Russia by the end of 2027, stated the Deputy Director General of the Estonian Police and Border Guard Service (PPA) Veiko Kommusaar.

"The Council of the Police and Border Guard Service plans to complete all works related to the creation of border infrastructure on the eastern border by the end of 2027," Kommusaar said, according to ERR.

He explained that the land border works planned for 2025 have already been completed. He added that during 2026, the fence will also be installed in those areas that were not initially planned.
