Thirty-three earthquakes have occurred in Japan

Thirty-three tremors occurred in the territory of Japan's Shimane Prefecture, where an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 was recorded on Tuesday, "RIA Novosti" calculated, based on the data of the main meteorological agency of Japan.

On Tuesday, at 10:18 a.m. local time (at 4:18 a.m. Moscow time), an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 occurred in Japan's Shimane prefecture. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 11 kilometers. No tsunami threat has been declared.

The intensity of the epicenter of the earthquake was 5+ on the seven-point scale used in Japan. Nine people were injured.

The strongest aftershock was a magnitude 5.1 tremor that occurred ten minutes after the main quake.

After Tuesday's earthquake, meteorologists warned that the risk of further strong earthquakes will remain throughout the week.
