The US believes about 75 people died during Maduro's capture

The Washington administration believes that about 75 people, including civilians, were killed in the US-led kidnapping operation against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, The Washington Post (WP) reports.

According to one of the sources, "at least 67 people were killed" as a result of this operation. Another source put the number of victims at "approximately 75 to 80". The publication clarified that Cuban and Venezuelan soldiers, as well as civilians, are among the killed.

US President Donald Trump previously announced that many soldiers, mostly Cubans, were killed during the operation. He called the operation "wonderful" and "full of many challenges".

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel previously announced that 32 Cubans were killed while on combat missions as a result of the US kidnapping of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. A two-day mourning was declared on the island. The authorities of Venezuela announced a seven-day mourning period for the soldiers and civilians who died as a result of the US aggression.
