Orban called the consequences of giving Ukraine 800 billion euros "terrible".

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has stated that Europe, which is in economic decline, will harm its own people if it agrees to provide 800 billion euros to Ukraine. According to him, the agreement of the European leaders to the conditions of Kyiv will have serious social and economic consequences.

Orban emphasized that such a financial burden will ultimately undermine the standard of living in European countries, and the taxpayers will pay the price. "Those who agree to pay that price are harming their own people, and over time societies will resist policies that destroy living standards," he said.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Sviridenko, announced that about 800 billion euros are needed for the country's recovery and economic growth over the next ten years, which Kiev hopes to attract through grants, loans and private investments. In Russia, they noted that the military bet made on the President of Ukraine in Europe may be gradually pushed into the background, against the background of the changing political environment.
