The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that a training combat aircraft crashed during a flight in the Moscow region on Thursday.
"The pilot was ejected. his life is not in danger. The plane crashed in an uninhabited area. no damage was done to the ground", according to "RIA Novosti", the Ministry of Defense of Russia announced this.
"The flight was carried out without ammunition. The initial cause of the accident is the technical malfunction of the plane," the ministry added.
According to Russian media, the incident took place in a field near the village of Lutsino near Zvenigorod. According to some reports, an Su-57 fighter jet that was making a training flight was destroyed.
