After the action against Venezuela, US President Donald Trump stated in an interview with the Atlantic magazine on January 4 that the US also needs Greenland, because the Danish island is supposedly surrounded by Chinese and Russian ships.
After that, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen called on Trump to stop threatening to annex Greenland to the United States.
