32 Cuban citizens were killed during the arrest of President Nicolas Maduro by American forces in Venezuela. As "Armenpress" reports, this was announced by the Cuban government.
"As a result of a criminal attack planned by the US government... During the fighting, 32 Cubans were killed, who were carrying out their mission on behalf of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of Interior at the request of the South American country's partners," the post on the Facebook page of the Cuban government says.
According to the decision of the government, January 5 and 6 were declared days of mourning in Cuba in memory of the victims.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz Canel condemned the US actions in a post on X, calling them "state terrorism against the brave people of Venezuela and our America."
On the night of January 3, US special forces entered the bedroom of Maduro and his wife in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, and arrested them. They were transferred to the USA, New York, where the couple will stand trial on charges of drug-related terrorism, cocaine importation, and illegal possession of weapons.
US President Donald Trump announced after the operation of US special forces in Caracas and the arrest of Nicolás Maduro that the US will temporarily govern Venezuela until a government that protects the interests of the people is established in that country. Trump has also announced that he will control Venezuela's oil resources.
