Britain's King Charles III and Prince William, the heir to the British throne, are scheduled to make separate visits to the United States in 2026.

The "Times" newspaper reported that the trips are aimed at using the royal family's authority to win US President Donald Trump over to Britain's side.

The article says that discussions about Her Majesty's trip "are at an advanced stage" and the visit itself could take place in April.

This will be the first visit of a British monarch to the United States in almost two decades. The last visit to the United States was made by the mother of the current head of state, Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022). That trip took place in 2007 at the invitation of President George W. Bush.
