Former Defense Minister of Georgia Bachana Akhalaia, who held the position during the presidency of former President Mikheil Saakashvili, was arrested on Thursday in connection with the attempted attack on the presidential palace on October 4, Deputy Head of the State Security Service of Georgia Lasha Maghradze announced during a briefing.
"According to the evidence, the identity of the main organizer of the October 4 events has been established, therefore, we have arrested Bachana Akhalaia," Maghradze said.
