NASA has not yet been able to re-establish communication with the Maven Orbiter

NASA has not yet been able to re-establish contact with the Mars-orbiting Mars Orbiter or determine its current status.

This was reported by NASA, referring to foreign media.

The agency said it lost contact with the spacecraft on December 6. The Maven team, in conjunction with the Deep Space Network, sends commands to restore the station's functionality and continues to monitor the broadcast channels, waiting for a response.

At the same time, experts analyze segments of telemetry data received on the day of loss of communication. This information is used to reconstruct the history of events and determine the probable cause of the failure. As part of this effort, the Curiosity rover, using its Mastcam camera, attempted to visually record Maven's orbit on December 16 and 20, but was unable to locate the device.
