The Russian ruble has strengthened over the past 12 months at its strongest rate since 1994, outperforming major currencies against the dollar in 2025, Bloomberg reports.

"This year, the Russian ruble has outperformed all major currencies against the dollar, surprising policymakers," the article notes.

The report shows that the ruble has strengthened by 45% since the beginning of the year. One of the reasons for this result is "tight monetary policy".

On Tuesday, Spartak Sobolev, the head of investment strategy research department of "Alpha-Forex", said that this week exchange rate fluctuations, according to forecasts, will range from 75.50 to 81.50 rubles for one dollar, 89 to 95 rubles for one euro, and 10.70 to 11.50 rubles for one yuan.
