"Fact" daily writes:
On December 18, Catholicos Garegin the Second Builder of All Armenians participated in the evening service with the Congregation of the Mother See at the Mother Cathedral, at the end of which His Holiness addressed his fatherly message and speech in support of the Armenian Church, the pilgrims who arrived at the Mother See.
Presenting the current alarming situation of the Armenian reality facing many security challenges, His Holiness made a very important observation in his speech, which I would like to quote. "In these circumstances, instead of strengthening the spirit of reconciliation, tolerance, and unity in the public, restoring the broken Church-State relations, on the contrary, the attacks against our Holy Church continue."
From this quote, let's highlight the optimistic thought of His Holiness "to restore Church-State relations". As I already mentioned once, His Grace Father Khazhak arch. Parsamyan presented a road map to implement such an idea.
That article of the holy father has become quite popular, and, I think, it should have reached the RA authorities as well. I also, referring to that proposal of the Bishop, expressed confidence that it is largely consistent with the views of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the vision of the settlement of the issue. The part I mentioned above in the address of His Holiness the Patriarch was the testimony of this and contained the hope that the RA authorities will reconsider their extremist positions towards the Armenian Church and try to adopt a more constructive and pro-Armenian position.
However, as we can see, the RA authorities have not yet matured for such a position. I think that some high-ranking clerics who came out against the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and demanded the resignation of the Patriarch of All Armenians were not good advisers to the prime minister and, without that, they clouded his perverted and distorted thoughts even more.
It is only thanks to the Lord's mercy and the wisdom and prudence of the Patriarch of All Armenians that on December 18, due to the organized provocation against the Mother See, serious civil clashes did not take place. I think that the RA authorities and some misguided clergy should give up the idea of demanding the resignation of His Holiness Karegin Shinarar, follow the paternal admonition of His Holiness and return to the canonical field, for the sake of the steadfastness of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and for the sake of the longed-for Armenian Statehood.
