US Secretary of State Marco Rubio congratulated Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Christmas, RIA Novosti reports.

"If he's watching, Merry Christmas, Sergey," Rubio said at a news conference when asked about Russia.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov mentioned the possibility of organizing a meeting between Lavrov and Rubio to discuss the Ukrainian settlement. However, according to him, the final agreements on conducting negotiations between the ministers have not yet been reached.
