"Zhoghovurd" daily writes:
"The Christmas tree standing in the central square of Gyumri these days looks more like a metal skeleton. the city seems to have stopped halfway, literally and figuratively. But if someone is now trying to "embarrass" the city authorities, "why didn't you manage to put it all in", let them first look at who took the keys to the administration of Gyumri to the corridors of the courts.
According to official news, the mayor of Gyumri, Vardan Ghukasyan, was arrested on October 20, and the next day, the anti-corruption court decided to detain him for two months. After the arrest of the mayor, according to the law, the duties of the mayor passed to the first deputy, Avetis Arakelyan.
And here is the main irony of the "genre". The governing CP puts on a "straitjacket" on the community in the political field with one hand, and complains that the city is not working with the other hand. Against this background, the Gyumri Christmas tree is no longer just a New Year's attribute. it is a showcase of the state of the local government.
When the same CP comes loudly "munnat" or "what is this situation", they need their critic first to turn the city management into a collapse. Today, Gyumri needs one thing more than a Christmas tree, so that Gyumri residents, and especially children, do not pay the price of political reprisals. The Christmas tree can be covered with lights in a day or two. And the semi-paralyzed community self-government will be "repaired" for years to come."
