Today, Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov has resigned amid ongoing mass demonstrations in the country.

On Wednesday, more than 100,000 people gathered in Sofia, demanding the resignation of the government. They accuse the authorities of corruption.

Demonstrations were also organized in 25 other cities, including Brussels, London and New York.

The main target of the protesters was the oligarch Delyan Peevski, who has a great influence on the government. The USA and Britain imposed sanctions on him for corruption.
