Radio signals emitted by comet 3I/Atlas confirm its natural origin and end the debate over the nature of its origin. This was reported to TASS by Nathan Aysmont, a leading researcher at the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences and associate professor of the Chair of Mechanics and Management Processes at the People's Friendship University of Russia.

"Indeed, the radio telescopes detected a signal emitted by the comet at frequencies of 1665-1667 megahertz in the decimeter range, which is typical of star formation regions and comets," Eismont said. He explained that this radio emission is due to the breakdown of water molecules under the influence of sunlight. "And this is the best evidence that Comet 3I/Atlas has a natural origin," the scientist noted. Currently, he added, astronomers around the world continue to track the object and may receive new radio signals in the specified frequency spectrum.
